Becky - Reiki

About me
My name is Becky Frinneby-Wake, and I am a certified Usui Reiki Master/Teacher member of the UK Reiki Federation and a registered member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. I am qualified in both traditional Japanese Usui Reiki Ryoho and Western Usui Shiki Ryoho. I hold a Professional Reiki Practitioner Diploma, which is the highest professional standard currently achievable. My lineage is traceable to the founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui, and this has been verified by the UK Reiki Federation.
Although I am qualified in both the Japanese and Western teachings, I feel more drawn to the traditions of the Japanese mediative system and these strongly influence my practice.

What is Reiki?

The Japanese word ‘Reiki’ literally translates as 'universal life force energy'. This system of healing was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It is a non-invasive complementary therapy which has been taught and practiced in the Western world since the late 1900s. Eastern medicine has for thousands of years recognised and worked with this energy, which flows through all living things. Reiki is not based on any belief, faith or suggestion, and can be used alongside conventional or other complementary treatments.

How does Reiki work?
Reiki is based on the concept that everything is energy. A Reiki practitioner connects to the Universal Energy to allow Reiki energy flow. It is generally assumed that the energy is not given by the practitioner but rather drawn by the recipient where it is most needed.

These are some examples of how Reiki may help

  • Reducing the effects of stress
  • Calming anxiety
  • Easing pain
  • Promoting better sleep
  • Reducing headaches
  • Lifting depression
  • Easing arthritis
  • General wellbeing
  • Increasing self-esteem
  • Releasing trauma and grief
  • Recovery from surgery and relaxing before treatments
  • Reducing the side effects of medical treatments
  • Increasing immunity

Please note: Reiki is known to be beneficial as a complementary and integrative therapy to be used alongside mainstream medical treatment and should in no way be a substitute for this or used a diagnostic tool. If you have a serious illness or any other medical condition or worries, please consult your GP.
